About Forum

The University of Tyumen’s Institute of State and Law is welcoming participants in the International Conference the 3rd Siberian Legal Forum, which is going to be held in Tyumen, November 1-3, 2018. The Forum will concentrate on the theme Digitalization of Society, Economy and Law, is targeted at sharing ideas and experiences in different fields of law and seeks to establish research collaborations, professional contacts and interdisciplinary communications.

The Siberian Legal Forum was first initiated by Tyumen State University in 2014. The mission of the Forum is to create a discussion platform for comprehensive consideration of a broad range of challenging issues and modern tendencies in the field of law, with legal scholars and practitioners from Siberia, other regions of Russia and foreign countries.
  
From 2018, the Forum will also be an open platform for the representatives of BRICS countries and a valuable instrument in outlining state practices and policies in the development of national and international law in BRICS countries. 
The BRICS Law Journal covers the legal aspects of the BRICS association group and is indexed in the international bibliographic database Scopus.

The 2018 Siberian Legal Forum is organized jointly by the University of Tyumen and the BRICS Law Journal. 
The Forum participants will have a chance to go to a sightseeing tour to Tobolsk, the oldest town in Siberia, and to enjoy its unique Russian-style architecture, history and culture. Visits to the Kremlin, cathedrals, museums and the Abalakskiy Svyato-Znamensky orthodox Men’s Monastery will be a part of the tour program.

What is the Siberian Legal Forum about?
The Siberian Legal Forum is a unique scientific venue meant for sharing views on topical problems of Law, including their comparative aspects within an international dimension. 

The Siberian Legal Forum was initiated by Tyumen State University in 2014 and is held every two years in Tyumen (Western Siberia, Russia). The mission is to create a discussion platform for comprehensive consideration of a broad range of challenging issues and modern tendencies in the field of law, with legal scholars and practitioners from Siberia, other regions of Russia and foreign countries.
The First Siberian Legal Forum was devoted to the 150th anniversary of the Judicial reform by Alexander II on the 20th of November, 2014, and also to the current reform of the Russian judicial system and the specialization of the courts and judges in the Russian Federation. 
The Second Legal Forum, The International Conference Administrative Justice: the Comparative and Russian Context held in 2016, dealt with the development of administrative proceedings in Russia.

  
Contributions to 3rd Siberian Legal Forum
The peer-reviewed articles may be published in special issues of the licensed scientific journal “Tyumen State University Herald. Socio-economic and Legal Research” (included in the list of peer-reviewed scientific journals of the Higher Attestation Commission) and in BRICS Law Journal, which is an open access journal included in the SCOPUS and HeinOnline databases. Manuscripts submitted to one of the journals are peer-reviewed according to the procedure required by the particular issue.
